Former Spanish teacher, Jeanna writes an eclectic mix of Adult, YA and Children’s literature, running the gamut from romance through to thriller and back again to picture books.
Jeanna has extensive experience as a beta reader and is a member of a number of critique groups. A Scribblers Blog Peer Pitch winner, her ability to kick lacklustre pitches and blurbs into shape has been described as ‘unnaturally fast, yet unbelievably good’ and ‘like a superpower’. She is also a Penguin Random House Writers’ Academy “Share Your Prompt” competition winner
Twitter is her kryptonite.
Emma has been writing all her life, with first publication at the age of 8, (back in the dark ages) on CeeFax! Her poems, haiku, flash fiction, short stories and children’s fiction have been published in a variety of publications and online, including winning and being shortlisted in some competitions, an honorable mention from SCBWI for her MG fantasy, A Witch in Time. She is a member of SCBWI and regularly attends critique groups, workshops and writing retreats. Emma is the creator of #ukteenchat, a regular writing related discussion held on Twitter.
Her knowledge of the submission process is as sharp as adamantium. Emma has networked with many agents, studied the art of submission and attended many writing events and has been mentored by author, Tamsyn Murray. Emma is represented by Laura West of the David Higham agency.
